Reflecting on 9/11

Today, on the seventeenth anniversary of 9/11, Patriot Day, we remember the tragic events, loss of life and the profound effect on people’s lives.  We remember the 2,977 people whose lives were stolen, their families, and the many, many others who were injured, or who suffered long-term health effects due to the terrorist attacks in New York, Washington D.C. and Pennsylvania.

For me, this event was personal as it happened in my country and in the city in which I was born. I believe that 9/11 changed us all.

Not only do we mourn our losses, but we celebrate our fortitude and our passion for positive change. As Americans, we have a strong resolve not to yield when adversity strikes. We unite as a nation not to be cowed, but instead to push forward. Patriot Day reminds me of the great dedication we have as a community, and a country.

The American people are famous for the unity embodied by our flag and in our love of country. We are blessed that in adversity, we come together in strength.

Today, we shall spend a moment in silence together to remember those who lost their lives, and to offer gratitude for those who work to make our lives better.

Ryan Takao takes on the Team28 Challenge

Here at PURE, we’ve been running the Team28 Challenge with fantastic results. We have over one-hundred participants, with the majority already enthusing and telling us about their great gains in energy levels and losses of both weight and belly fat, along with changes in body composition.

The Team28 Challenge involves committing to a 28-day Detox Plan. Carefully selected products by PURE help detoxification by nutritionally supporting the body’s natural health-maintaining processes.

One of the earliest participants this summer was Independent Business Owner (IBO), Ryan Takao. Over the last few years, he’d been seeing worsening results in his annual health screening blood-work and so he participated in the Team28 Challenge to improve his health. He told us, “I did it because of my triglycerides and cholesterol levels and I didn’t want to medicate.” And, wow, has he got great results: his triglycerides are down from 323 to 99 and his cholesterol measurement was 224 and is now down to 124 – with improved HDL and LDL levels. As Ryan puts it, “I have gotten my health back naturally.”

But there is more to this story. When we spoke with Ryan, he told us that his father is a physician. “My dad’s numbers had been going in the wrong direction for several years, despite being on medications. When he saw the results I was getting, he was mad at me for telling so many people about the 28-day Detox Plan, but not him. He’s now received his own Detox Kit and has started the Challenge.”

It’s not a surprise that Ryan’s dad wanted to join in: have a look at Ryan’s before and after photos. They speak volumes. The Team28 Challenge is continuing to run throughout September. We’ll be featuring other participants on our Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/livepureglobal/

Labor Day Is Here

Here at PURE, we’re looking forward to the long weekend and to spending quality time with our friends and loved ones. It’s the unofficial end of summer and for many of us it’s one of our last opportunities to light up the grill and enjoy what’s left of the warm weather while we can.

We’re also reflecting on the meaning and history of Labor Day: it’s not Easter, the most important date in the Christian calendar; nor is it Christmas, arguably the biggest holiday event of the year. It does not involve the signing of our most cherished declaration or giving thanks for a good harvest. According to most sources, Labor Day is dedicated to the social and economic achievements of American workers, workers who – through hard effort – have contributed to the strength, prosperity and well-being of our country.

In 1887, Oregon became the first state to make Labor Day an official holiday, and it became a recognized holiday across the U.S. only seven years later. This was at odds with the “labour day” celebrated then and now in other countries. May 1 or May Day was perceived to be a day of action, when blue-collar workers might demonstrate in support of shorter work days or for the redistribution of wealth from capitalists to workers. Here in the U.S. however, many people petitioned for a day off, a family day, when people could relax and enjoy the fruits of their efforts. Efforts that have succeeded in building the largest and most successful economy in the world.

This spirit of achievement, of putting in the effort to build successful businesses, is exemplified every day by our PURE Independent Business Owners. They work hard and smart, and recognize that success is earned.

So this weekend, get out the grill, go to the park, go visit with family or hang out with friends. And celebrate the American work ethic and the fruits of our labor.

Happy Labor Day from all of us at PURE.

PURE Destinations – Caribbean Cruise Recap

PURE Independent Business Owners (IBOs) from around the U.S., and corporate staff attended the PURE Destinations 2018 Bahamas Caribbean Cruise on the Carnival Conquest to celebrate accomplishments, relax and build lasting relationships.

Approximately 100 attendees sailed from August 11-16 and enjoyed beautiful ocean views, plenty of sun, delicious meals and plenty of beach time.

To kick off the festivities, IBOs were invited to a reception Saturday night where they were warmly welcomed by Black Diamond IBOs and PURE CEO, Daren Hogge.

On Sunday, guests arrived at Nassau where they had the entire day to discover the island on their own. They visited the Atlantis waterpark and shopped for souvenirs at the stylish boutiques. The peaceful, serene waters provided the perfect backdrop for snorkeling the coral reefs. At the end of the day, guests were treated to a formal Bahamian dinner.

On Monday, the ship arrived at Half Moon Cay. Guests enjoyed lounging on the white sand beach and swimming in the beautiful, blue water. Others chose to saddle up for horseback riding in the water and on land. And, they all enjoyed fellowship, their highlight of the trip.

On Tuesday, guests enjoyed fun leisure activities at Grand Turk. They relaxed on the beach and snorkeled the beautiful water. The more adventurous chose to zip-line while others shopped for local wares.

Wednesday was spent onboard and there were plenty of activities to enjoy — massages, gambling, onboard shopping, yoga, friendly basketball competitions and their favorite, Karaoke! Apparently, we have some really good vocals among our PURE IBOs!  Guests also attended a business meeting that morning where they received valuable training from members of the Leadership Advisory Council.

As cruise attendees disembarked in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida on Thursday, they returned to their homes motivated to take on the rest of the year with enthusiasm.

Happy 10-year anniversary PURE

To mark our 10-year anniversary, PURE is hosting Xcelerate, a sales event on October 19-20 in Frisco, Texas, to celebrate successes, recognize hard work and focus on the future.

Ten years ago, founder and chairman of the board, Dae Geun Jung, and PURE CEO, Daren Hogge, agreed to create a company that they knew would impact people’s lives around the globe. The discovery of GoYin, the company’s flagship product, combined with a vision to create quality nutritional products, has led to a portfolio of unique ingredients and effective formulas.

Daren Hogge has presided over the rise of PURE, now staffed by a team of 100, and a network of more than 30,000 Independent Business Owners (IBOs) and Members.

“I’m nostalgic thinking about how we started PURE with GoYin and ended up where we are today with more than 30 life-changing products,” said Daren Hogge. “What I’m most proud of is our community of entrepreneurs who are united by a mission to change people’s lives. Moving forward, we will continue to provide innovative products with the best that nature and science has to offer.”

“Over the past 10 years, we have created a path to Whole Health through our high-quality products and opportunity, encouraging people to share our health solutions with their families, neighbors and friends,” said Mr. Dae Geun Jung. “We will continue to sow the seeds of wellness by fueling the body with key nutrients and bearing fruits of happiness for those who follow PURE. I pray for the well-being and happiness of all the families that are with us.”

Over the course of a decade, PURE has successfully grown its portfolio of health and wellness products for nutrition, weight loss, performance, seasonal support and hydration to support overall health. In June 2017, PURE unveiled a new corporate brand and logo reflecting the company’s Whole Health philosophy and a commitment to delivering unmatched products and opportunity.

To join PURE in the celebration of 10 years, register for Xcelerate. Be inspired, motivated and get exclusive access to purchase new products. The event will happen at the Omni Frisco Hotel next to The Star, a state-of-the-art entertainment district and world headquarters of the Dallas Cowboys. Tickets are available through EVENTBRITE.

It’s Shark Week — make no bones about it

We’re celebrating Shark Week at PURE! For all the fans of these incredible fish, did you know that humans have some “shark” in them?

For one, sharks have almost the exact same eyes as we do, with retinas that contain both rod and cone cells.1 Two, we both have cartilage in our bodies, a very important and necessary structural component.

Sharks are all cartilage. In fact, there is not one bone in their body. Zero! Cartilage, or connective tissue made of protein and elastin fibers, makes up their thick skin. Their muscles are attached directly to these fibers. This lightweight, external skeleton provides support, yet allows for flexibility so they can swim faster, evade predators and swiftly catch their prey.

In humans, cartilage provides cushioning between our bones, specifically our elbows, knees and ankles. Think of it as “shark absorbers”! Our ears and the end of our nose are made of cartilage. There is cartilage at the ends of our ribs, between the vertebrae in our spine and in our bronchial tubes. Unfortunately, it takes years to rebuild and repair cartilage, simply because it does not have its own blood supply to provide regeneration, as other tissues do.

Add Organic Sulfur to your daily regimen to support joint health.* For exercise, swimming is one of the best low-impact forms you can do for joint health. Just don’t go swimming with the sharks, unless you’re swimming from the safety of a shark cage!

You and organic sulfur are a joint effort.

Organic Sulfur by PURE is important in collagen production.* Organic sulfur is both a mineral and an element and is naturally found in the protein of plants, animals and humans. The body cannot make sulfur on its own; therefore, it must be obtained from a variety of foods, such as fruits, vegetables and grains.

The ingredient, Methylsulfonylmethane (MSM), is a naturally occurring dietary form of sulfur, and is necessary for many important functions in the body. Organic Sulfur contains 99.9% of this form of sulfur.

Organic Sulfur:

  • Is important in collagen production, the main supportive protein of tendons, cartilage, connective tissue and bone*
  • Consists of 99.9% pure distilled MSM sourced in North America and has no added fillers, binders, excipients, artificial ingredients or flow agents
  • Non-GMO, gluten-free, dairy-free and vegan
  • Available in capsules and powder form

MSM:

  • May improve flexibility and mobility by promoting joint function and health.*
  • May help alleviate discomfort that may follow challenging exercise sessions.*
  • May help promote healthy skin, hair, and nails.*
